Archivo Lafuente, founded by José María Lafuente in 2002, brings together several collections and documentary fonds related to modern and contemporary art. Nowadays, the archive has 110.000 items approximately, plus around 3000 works of art among which there are paintings, sculptures, and graphic works.
Its primary purpose is to compile paintings, sculptures, books, magazines, catalogues, manifestos, ephemeral publications, letters, manuscripts, objects, photographs, projects..., but its aim is to trace and follow lines of investigation that allow a first-hand insight into the wealth of ideas, acts and events that make up the history of modern and contemporary art from the avant-gardes up to post-modernity.
Ediciones La Bahía is the publishing house of Archivo Lafuente. It was founded in 2009 by José María Lafuente with the aim of studying and spreading the documentary and artistic fonds of Archivo Lafuente throughout artists books, essays and exhibition catalogues.
