Curated:
Fernando Millán

"It is Written. Experimental Poetry in Spain" was an exhaustive exploration of the field of experimental poetry in Spain from the final years of Franco’s dictatorship until the late seventies. Said period witnessed the onset of democracy at political level, alongside inexorable development in the use of information and communication technologies in the social sphere. Juan Hidalgo, Walter Marchetti and, in general, the Zaj group, José Luis Castillejo, José María Figueres, Rafael de Cózar, Julio Campal, Joan Brossa and Felipe Boso, in addition to Fernando Millán himself, were just a few of the many authors whose work, often obscure, could be seen in the exhibition. It was complemented with a programme of films and a selection of reference literature in the Artium Library. All of the pieces, by some 300 authors—of whom more than half were Spanish—originate from the Fernando Millán collection, which has been a part of the Lafuente Archive since 2008.
