Organised by the Fundación Juan March, the Calcografía Nacional presents the exhibition "Discovering Millares, 1959–1972. The Complete Graphic Work of Manolo Millares".
It is little surprise that Manolo Millares Sall (Las Palmas de Gran Canaria, 1926–Madrid, 1972) held such interest throughout his whole career in printmaking and graphic techniques in general—image multiplication systems, applying contemporary terminology—considering his fascination since childhood for the etchings of Francisco de Goya, Los Caprichos (1797–1799) and The Disasters of War (1810–1815), which, when viewed through reproductions discovered in 1933 in books from the family house in Las Palmas, captivated the young boy and future artist.
